The area of interest ( Gounari Pier ) constitutes a pressure space among the urban landscape and the sea. The aim of this proposal is to attempt the creation of an intermediate-transitional space which will combine and relieve the pressure elements. This could be accomplished in two ways :

• with the creation of the longitudinal park extending in parallel with the seafront which will form the coastal public space that the city of Patras is lacking.

• With the axial development towards the Gounari street and with the graduation of different qualities , uses and textures of public spaces ending at the end of the pier by placing the student residences which constitutes our central private space.

Overall , the proposal attempts the composition of miscellaneous public spaces – hence users as well - while defending the privacy of the student habitation .
