For this design thesis a modern library building and learning center is designed that is intended to serve the needs of the public for information. The ontology of computers that is projected onto the world and creates a new cultural form is examined, and symmetrical architectural structures are found through the use of the analogy of interface/database. This schema is compared with the concepts of servant/served space and frame/generic space.
In our proposal, one of the main design decisions was to unify corridors, stairs and elevators into a zone that functions as an interface to the building. The centre of this zone is formed into a interior square that houses multiple uses beyond the circulation of people, such as small events, exhibitions, film projections, etc.
