The European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award, includes since 2016 a new category: the Young Talent Architecture Award. The YTAA launches its third edition supporting the talent of recently graduated Architects, Urban Planners and Landscape Architects. In the first two editions (2016 and 2018), more than 545 projects were submitted from 138 Schools in 113 cities.
The prestige of your architecture faculty impels us to invite you to participate in the 2020 YTAA which will include the nominated graduation projects presented between January 1st 2018 and December 31st 2019. Each faculty is asked to register as soon as possible: fill in the attached form and send it back to . Afterwards we will contact you in order to proceed with the process of nomination of the graduation projects that your faculty considers through an internal selection process before February 24. Please, find attached the Rules and the Calendar documents with all the details.
The four Winners will be supported in the creation of a network with the architects and critics involved in the EUMiesAward. They will also receive 5.000€ each; a profile in World Architects; furniture from USM to organize their workspace; their designs will be presented at the 2020 YTAA Traveling Exhibition with a special venue in La Biennale di Venezia where they will be invited to participate in a debate together with other professionals. Finalists, Shortlisted and Schools will also be awarded.
The opening of the exhibition of YTAA 2020 will take place in May 23 at La Biennale di Venezia. The Award Ceremony and debate will take place in September in the same space with the participation of the Jury members, Winners, Finalists, partners and other professionals.
YTAA is organised by the Fundació Mies van der Rohe with the support of the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and in partnership with the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE) and the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE-CAE); World Architects as a founding partner; the European Cultural Centre as a partner in Venice; sponsored by Jung, Jansen and Regent; and with the support of USM.
