Ionian Bisai (born in 1992) is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Athens. Along with Sotiris Tsiganos, he is a co-founder of the artistic group Latent Community (2017 -). He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (2013-2018) and continued his postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Art in London (2020-2022).

His work focuses on issues of social, political, and ecological justice, utilizing moving images, sound, and contemporary representational media. His films and installations explore themes such as memory, trauma, and community, while also examining the ethics of representation and the politics of collaboration to highlight forgotten memories, lost narratives, and threatened ecosystems.

His work has been presented at significant international exhibitions and festivals, including the Athens Biennale, the Public Programs of documenta 14 (2017), the Sharjah Film Platform of the Sharjah Art Foundation (2019), and Recontemporary in Turin (2019). He has participated in the 22nd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, and his work was presented at Biennale Mediterranea 19 – School of Waters (2021). Additionally, he has exhibited at the Grand Central Art Center in California and the 23rd Sydney Biennale: Rīvus (2022). Latent Community has been awarded by renowned international organizations such as LOOP Barcelona and the Sharjah Art Foundation. Bisai has received fellowships from ARTWORKS-SNF and the SNFPHI (Stavros Niarchos Foundation Public Humanities Initiative) at Columbia University. He has also participated in residency programs such as the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in the USA, ONASSIS AiR: The School of Infinite Rehearsals, and the Caravan Residency Program (Cittadellarte–Fondazione Pistoletto & Centre for Fine Arts–Bozar).
