Manuel Gausa Navarro is a PhD architect and critic, author of several publications. From 2017 he has the Chair of Planning and Urban Design as Full Professor at DAD-UNIGE, University of Genoa where he was Associate Professor of Design (2008-2014) and Full Professor of Architecture and Landscape Design (2014-17). Since 2015, he is the Director-Coordinator of the ADD, PhD Program in Architecture and Design. From 2012 to 2015 he was Dean of IAAC, Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona where, as Co-founder and Senior Professor, he is now the Lead Professor in Theory and Advanced Knowledge and a Member of the Scientific Committee. Gausa is a Founding Member (2000) and Principal Advisor (from 2008) of Actar Publishers and Actar Arquitectura office of architecture, landscape and urban design. In 2000 he was honoured with the Médaille de l´Académie d´Architecture de France. He is the author of various articles and books, such as: Housing: New alternatives, new systems (1998-2001), Singular Housing (2000), The Metapolis Dictionary of Advanced Architecture (2003), HiperCatalunya: Territories of Research (2003), Operative Optimism (2005), Multi-Barcelona, Hiper-Catalunya.
