
Born in Patras in 1986, Xeni Simou is an architect engineer of the University of Patras (2009), holds an MSc in Conservation of Monuments and Sites, RLICC, KU Leuven, Belgium (2012) and a Ph.D. from the Department of Architecture of the University of Patras (2023), doctoral thesis: “Ottoman fortifications of the Peloponnese (Morea) during the first period of the ottoman rule”. She was granted with scholarships from “The Panayotis & Effie Michelis Foundation”, “Foundation for Education and European Culture”, “The A.G. Leventis Foundation” scholarships, and “IKY foundation”.
She has worked in architectural offices tailoring specialized architectural studies in Greece and Belgium (2008-2012) and as a supervisor in restoration works and digital heritage promotion projects of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture. (Arcadia, Argolid, Corinthia)
Since 2010 she runs her own architectural practice in Patras, undertaking architectural and restoration projects. Has participated in research projects and workshops, presented and published research studies in international conferences in the field of history of architecture, fortified architecture, medieval and post-medieval architecture, vernacular architecture and structural technology, conservation of cultural heritage, restoration and digital documentation of monuments.
